I can't identify this gadget…?

I recently moved and found a gadget in my kitchen utensils and have no idea what it’s for. It’s made by "Spectrum Clev.", and it’s a two part white something that sticks on the wall. The part that doesn’t have the sticky press has a round opening about the size of a quarter. The circular part is gray. Any help in identifying this object would be very much appreciated!
I did a search for Spectrum Clev. but no luck. Thanks for your idea though.

help with kitchen decorating?

I’m moving in a new apartment in August and I bought some cute dishes that are white with a border of bright red, blue, and yellow flowers. I really like the whole trend with red for the kitchen so I’m wanting to do that.

I suck at decorating, AND I’m on a budget (I’m a grad student). I love all those red kitchen utensils/gadgets (like the spatulas, slotted spoons, etc) but spending between – on each utensil would add up quickly.

So, what do you guys think about maybe getting a cute red canister to set on the counter to hold basic black utensils instead? That way I could get the cheap – ones but still kind of have red as the center.

So far I have: white tablecloth w/ red placemats, red paper towel holder and spoon rest, red silverware, a set of kitchen knives with red handles, and the above mentioned dishes.

Can you guys give me any other good ideas? Like I said nothing pricy, I’m on a budget. I suck at these things so I appreciate imput :)
Also, if you have suggestions for things links to these items would be so helpful! thanks

also since there is red and blue in the dishes should I try to use touches of those colors too, and if so, how?

What is the best brand of kitchen utensils/gadgets/pans?

I will soon be a first-time home buyer and am trying to decide on kitchen utensils/pots and pans/gadgets, etc. but am overwhelmed with the many brands out there. Is stainless steel worth the money? I would like to know the best brand that can pretty much provide me with all the kitchen essentials I would need…Cephalon? OXO?
